Ian at a previous race event
A four-year-old boy undergoing gruelling treatment in his battle against a rare form of cancer will be the inspiration for a Sipp firm boss this weekend.
The Manchester Marathon is the challenge facing Ian Stone, head of risk and compliance at Sipp and SSAS provider Curtis Banks.
Mr Stone is helping to raise cash for Harri Gillen, who has a rhabdomyosarcoma tumour. He has been undergoing treatment including chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy and spent Christmas in hospital.
He was diagnosed with the condition after his parents discovered a lump on his left forearm.

Mr Stone said: "It's my first full marathon, having previously completed a few half marathons and 10k races, and I'm raising funds to help an amazing and very brave little boy called Harri Gillen.
"A fund has been set up by friends and family of Harri's parents, Lee and Liz, to help support the family at this difficult time and to help make a few of Harri's wishes come true, the first of which is to build him a treehouse in his garden.
"As well as providing a great opportunity to help raise money for Harri, on a personal basis I really wanted to complete a full marathon before I hit 40 and Manchester offers a well supported and relatively flat course that seems well suited for a novice at this distance."
Although trying to fit in training around work and family commitments has been difficult, he said that it has actually helped relieved the stress arising from the end of the tax year.
He said: "I'll be happy just completing the course to be honest but doing so in under five hours would be good, beyond that I'll worry more about setting a good time in a future race, if not put off this distance for life on Sunday."
Funds are being raised to help support Harri and his family during the treatment period, through which his mum is providing full time care rather than working, and his dad is working reduced hours.
A donation will also be made to the children's cancer charity LATCH from the fund.
